BCC to hold literary carnival called Thaanavaa

Business Centre Corporation (BCC) has decided to hold a literary carnival called Thaanavaa.

Thaanavaa would be the first such literary carnival to be held in the country. BCC will be holding the event at Central Park in Hulhumale’ from July 20-21. The purpose of the event is to revive the Maldivian culture and literature and to provide the opportunity for those in the field of literature to showcase their skills and products.

Speaking to PSM News, Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) Samih Adam said BCC wants to provide more commercial opportunities to those working in the field of literature. He said the literary carnival will be a unique event that is a special initiative of the Ministry of Economic Development and that the event is not only dedicated to writers but to everyone who has contributed to literature. He added that this is an opportunity to revive the Maldivian culture by opening up commercial opportunities and allowing those in the field to receive revenue.

The literary carnival will feature Maldivian literary works which will be available for sale. The event will also host panel discussions, debates, and various literary competitions. BCC will be accepting applications to establish stalls at the event until July 16.
