Gov't marks completion of infrastructure projects in Miladhoo

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has visited Miladhoo as part of his ongoing tour of the islands in the Noonu Atoll and attended the functions held to mark the completion of projects on the island.

During his visit, President Solih marked the completion of several infrastructure development projects, including an upgraded harbour, a new FENAKA Office, and a powerhouse on the island. These new amenities will improve the quality of life for residents and promote economic growth in the region.

The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) completed the development of the upgraded harbour, which opened officially today. The upgrade included dredging the harbour and channel basin to increase their depth, installing new ramps and port lights, and constructing pavement to improve accessibility and functionality. These enhancements will provide significant benefits to the local community.

Furthermore, President Solih also inaugurated the new Fenaka Office and powerhouse on Miladhoo Island. These facilities have state-of-the-art amenities, including a powerhouse with a power generation capacity of 1,080 kilowatts. The new Fenaka Office can accommodate 30 employees, representing a significant increase from the previous office’s capacity of just three.

Under President Solih’s leadership, the administration has achieved significant strides toward equitable development across all inhabited islands in the Maldives. The progress made includes enhancing the quality of life for citizens and empowering them to lead dignified lives.

During his visits to various islands, President Solih is officially inaugurating the completion of numerous projects and services.
