President says most proud of educational opportunities for youth

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has stated that he is most proud of providing educational opportunities for the youth. He made the remark at a campaign event held by the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) in Velidhoo, Noonu Atoll.

Speaking at the event, President Solih highlighted his administration's initiatives to provide educational and training opportunities to fulfill the expectations of young people for a better future. He said that he is most proud of the work done to provide more opportunities to the youth, referring to the free degree programme and the facilitation of scholarship opportunities.

Additionally, President Solih highlighted how the drug epidemic has affected the youth and assured that the country is on the right path to solving the issue. He said that centres will be established to treat and rehabilitate individuals apprehended for a variety of crimes.

Furthermore, President Solih provided information on his plans for Velidhoo for the next term, which includes commencing projects to build housing and a sports complex. He also pledged to install lights at the football ground and build a new police service building and a powerhouse.
