MDP manifesto provides solutions to issues related to youth

The main ruling Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) has provided solutions to the issues related to the youth in its manifesto.

The section of the manifesto dedicated to the youth was introduced at a campaign event in Velidhoo, Noonu Atoll. The section on youth is divided into subsections concerning health, sports, and recreation.

The manifesto includes policies to provide cheap housing by building affordable co-living spaces and studio spaces to reduce the burden of paying high rent. The policies also include issuing loans with interest rates of no more than 6% for residential purposes and introducing council housing for socio-economically vulnerable people.

The manifesto also focuses on empowering the youth by building a skilled and technologically literate generation by including policies to establish youth innovation labs and youth entrepreneurship incubators in different parts of the country. The policies also stipulate the expansion of the loan scheme for artists. The policies related to health include focusing on prevention under the primary healthcare model and the development of sports facilities in different areas to improve the health of young people.

Additionally, the manifesto includes policies to establish national indoor futsal arenas to host international tournaments, and to introduce national futsal leagues. The manifesto also includes the establishment of racing tracks in Thilafushi and other areas.
