President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has marked the inauguration of several infrastructure projects during his visit to three islands of Alifu Alifu Atoll.
During his trip, President Solih inaugurated the new football and volleyball courts in Bodufolhudhoo and marked the completion of the water supply network in Mathiveri. The newly inaugurated football ground in Bodufolhudhoo is layered with turf and features state-of-the-art amenities and facilities. Alioth Investment Private Limited laid the subbase layer, while Amin Construction Private Limited installed the turf ground. The enhancements will provide an improved sporting experience for athletes and sports enthusiasts on the island. The island's newly developed volleyball court was also constructed to modern standards. In addition, the Male' Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) developed the water supply network in Mathiveri.
Additionally, President Solih travelled to Feridhoo and inaugurated the new extension of the healthcare centre. After the opening ceremony, the President toured the new extension of the healthcare centre and inquired about the services available at the facility. The new wing resolves the shortage of space at the healthcare centre and includes several new facilities that would benefit patients and staff. The administrative office provides a dedicated space for staff to manage patient records and coordinate care, while the public health unit offers various preventive health services. The facility also includes a meeting room and general and medical stores to ensure that essential supplies and medications are readily available.
The administration of President Solih has undertaken numerous development projects to improve health services in the atolls. The projects have included infrastructure development, human resource development, and the introduction of new services at health centres, atoll hospitals, and regional hospitals.
Under President Solih's leadership, the administration has made significant strides towards achieving equitable development across all inhabited islands in the Maldives. The progress made includes enhancing the quality of life for citizens and empowering them to lead dignified lives.
