Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) has made an announcement that it will provide scholarships to the public for enrollment in the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) Class of 2028.
USAFA courses are scheduled to begin in June 2024. MNDF stated that on completion of the programme in a period of four years, candidates will be awarded a Bachelor's Degree and will be commissioned as an officer in the Maldivian armed forces.
The requirements for the course include having completed A-Level or a qualification equivalent to A-Level or above, not being married, and being under 23 years of age before July 1, 2024. In addition, candidates must have taken the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) or American College Testing (ACT), have taken the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), and be mentally and physically fit.
A range of potential majors is available, encompassing aeronautical engineering, astronautical engineering, computer science, military strategic studies, mechanical engineering, cyber science, biology, legal studies, mathematics, management, operations research, philosophy, system engineering, and meteorology. Furthermore, the USFA official website will provide information about additional fields of study.
MNDF requested eligible candidates to submit application forms before August 31.
