New mosque to be built in Kendhoo

Ministry of Islamic Affairs has contracted Fast Line Private Limited for the construction of a mosque in Kendhoo, Baa Atoll.

The agreement was signed by Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr. Ahmed Zahir Ali during a special ceremony. The new mosque has been tasked to be completed within one year at a cost of USD998,700. The mosque will accommodate 500 worshippers at a time including both men and women.

The government is actively engaged in constructing mosques across different regions of the country. Furthermore, the government has emphasised its commitment to integrating solar power systems into these mosques to harness renewable energy. The tender for supplying solar PV systems for installation in 155 mosques across 155 islands in the nation has already been publicly announced.
