Land plots in Giraavaru Falhu to be issued by October

Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure has announced that Giraavaru Falhu will be reclaimed and land plots will be issued by October.

The government is providing land plots to residents of Male', under the Binveriya Housing Scheme, from Hulhumale' Phase II and by reclaiming Gulhifalhu and Giraavaru Falhu. A total of 19,639 individuals have been deemed eligible in the final list for the Binveriyaa scheme, with 18,948 set to receive one of the currently available 9,003 land plots. The ministry plans to give out 5,000 land plots from Giraavaru, 2,200 from Gulhifalhu, and 1,300 from Hulhumale' Phase II.

Speaking to PSM News, Minister of State Akram Kamaluddeen said that land plots in Giraavaru Falhu will be designated during the reclamation work, which is scheduled to be completed by October. He also said that around 400 land plots can be allocated from the currently reclaimed area and that all the land plots will be handed over by November 5, before the end of the presidential term.

The reclamation projects in Giraavaru Falhu and Giraavaru are progressing at a fast pace. The projects are being carried out by Netherlands-based CMC-Boskalis joint venture.
