President inaugurates projects in Fulhadhoo and Fehendhoo

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has marked the completion of several infrastructure projects in Fulhadhoo and Fehendhoo in Baa Atoll.

The projects include the construction of new harbours in both islands and the establishment of a new powerhouse and an office of Fenaka Corporation Limited in Fulhadhoo. The infrastructure development initiatives are expected to improve the quality of life for residents and support economic growth in the region.

The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) completed the development of the new harbour in Fulhadhoo. The upgrade included several improvements to the harbour's infrastructure, including dredging the harbour and channel basin to increase their depth, installing port lights, and constructing 558sqm of pavement to improve accessibility and functionality. The offshore harbour features a bridge to connect it to the island. The enhancements are expected to improve the harbour's efficiency and safety, supporting the local community's transportation needs.

Additionally, President Solih inaugurated the new Fenaka office and powerhouse in Fulhadhoo. The state-of-the-art facilities include a powerhouse with a power generation capacity of 538kW, providing reliable and efficient energy to the local community. The new Fenaka office, which can accommodate up to 15 employees, was constructed away from the residential area to minimise disruption to residents.

Furthermore, MTCC completed the construction of the new harbour in Fehendhoo. The project included several enhancements to the harbour's infrastructure, such as dredging the harbour and channel basin to increase their depth, installing port lights, and constructing 558sqm of pavement to improve accessibility and functionality. The offshore harbour features a bridge to connect it to the island. The improvements are expected to provide significant benefits to the local community by improving the efficiency and safety of the harbour.
