Ministry of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment has opened for nominations for the Youth Awards 2023.
The Youth Awards will be conferred during the ceremony held to mark National Youth Day on October 22. The ministry has provided details on the points to be given to the nominees in the Government Gazette. All qualified individuals are required to submit their nominations by September 26 to the Maldives Centre for Social Education (MCSE) or online. Nominations will also be accepted on official working days from 0830-1330hrs.
The Youth Awards aim to recognise the contributions of youth towards national development across various fields. The youth ministry revealed awards will be given across 14 different fields this year, including economy, health, sports, environment, fisheries and agriculture, volunteer work, and vocational training. The awards include the Martyr Jawad Umar Memorial Plaque.
