Housing Development Cooperation Limited (HDC) has contracted Sri Lankan-based Capital Marine and Civil Construction Company Private Limited (CMCC) to reclaim land from Hulhumale' to be issued to recipients under the Binveriya Housing scheme.
CMCC will reclaim 62.6 hectares of land from Hulhumale' Phase III as part of the project. The newly reclaimed land in Hulhumale' will also be used for housing and land will be allocated for the establishment of public services for the residents in the area.
The government has decided to issue land from Hulhumale’, Gulhi Falhu and Giraavaru Falhu under the Binveriya scheme. The initiative includes 1,351 plots of land from Hulhumale’, 2,218 plots from Gulhifalhu, and 5,432 plots from Giraavarufalhu.
CMCC has also contracted the reclamation of 24.6 hectares of land from Dhiyanaru Lagoon and 9.6 hectares of land from Thilafushi Area D. HDC stated that these reclaimed areas will be used for residential, industrial, and marina purposes.
