President inaugurates projects in Maalhos and Dhonfanu

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has marked the completion of infrastructure projects in Maalhos and Dhonfanu in Baa Atoll.

During his visit to Maalhos, President Solih inaugurated the water and sewerage network project, carried out by the Male' Water and Sewerage Company Private Limited (MWSC). The newly opened infrastructure represents significant investments in the development and well-being of the local communities.

President Solih then travelled to Dhonfanu, where he inaugurated the island's coastal protection and harbour. The projects were completed by MT Højgaard Private Limited. The coastal protection project included the development of a 536m revetment, while the harbour project involved dredging to increase its depth, constructing a quay wall and outer seawall, installing new ramps and port lights, and paving to improve accessibility and functionality.

In Dhonfanu, President Solih also inaugurated the new office of Fenaka Corporation Limited. The state-of-the-art facilities include a powerhouse with a power generation capacity of 650kW. The facilities were strategically located away from the residential area to minimise disruption to the island's inhabitants.
