President inaugurates infrastructure projects in Rasmaadhoo

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has marked the completion of infrastructure projects in Rasmaadhoo, Raa Atoll. The projects include an upgraded harbour, coastal protection, as well as a new powerhouse and office of Fenaka Corporation Limited.

The harbour upgrade and coastal protection projects in Rasmaadhoo were completed by the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC). The projects included dredging the harbour basin and channel and construction of a 36m groyne, 181m revetment, 272m quay wall, 84m concrete jetty and other port-related works.

The coastal protection project in Rasmaadhoo included the installation of a 195m of T-groyne and an 186m sea wall. These improvements are expected to enhance the safety and functionality of the harbour for the benefit of the local community, improving the quality of life for residents and supporting the island's continued growth.

President Solih also inaugurated the newly built powerhouse and Fenaka office in Rasmaadhoo. The new powerhouse represents a significant upgrade to the existing infrastructure, and its strategic location away from the residential area minimises disruption to the island's inhabitants. The administration stated it has achieved significant strides towards equitable development across all inhabited islands. This includes enhancing the quality of life for citizens and empowering them to lead dignified lives.
