President inaugurates infrastructure in Maabaidhoo and Maavah

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has inaugurated newly completed infrastructure projects in Maabaidhoo and Maavah in Laamu Atoll. The projects included a new powerhouse and Fenaka Corporation Limited office in Maabaidhoo and an upgraded harbour and water supply network on Maavah.

During his visit to Maabaidhoo, President Solih opened the newly developed powerhouse, which boasts a power generation capacity of 980kW, signifying a substantial leap in delivering dependable and efficient power to the island. The Fenaka office, which is a state-of-the-art and capacious establishment, was also opened. These inaugurations mark a significant milestone in the development of local infrastructure and the sustained progress of the community.

Additionally, Altec Maldives Private Limited completed the developed of the water supply network in Maavah, while the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) enhanced the harbour. The project encompassed significant improvements including deepening the harbour basin, erecting a 284m breakwater, a 110m quay wall, and a 40m revetment, and executing other pertinent harbour enhancement initiatives.

The administration says it has achieved significant strides towards equitable development across all inhabited islands in the Maldives. It includes enhancing the quality of life for citizens and empowering them to lead dignified lives.

During his visits to various islands, President Solih is officially inaugurating the completion of numerous projects and services.
