President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has inaugurated the newly completed infrastructure projects in Maamendhoo and Fonadhoo in Laamu Atoll.
The projects include a water supply network, a new powerhouse, and an extension of the healthcare centre, offices of Fenaka Corporation Limited, and a new football ground. These improvements represent significant investments in the development and well-being of the local communities and are expected to enhance the quality of life for residents of Maamendhoo and Fonadhoo.
Raiza Private Limited constructed the healthcare centre extension in Maamendhoo to include administrative offices, public health and health education units, and a store room. In addition, space has been allocated for a laboratory within the healthcare centre. These new facilities will significantly enhance healthcare services for the local community.
S.M.C. Infrastructure Private Limited constructed the water supply network in Maamendhoo as part of the administration's initiative to develop such networks on all inhabited islands. The newly built powerhouse has a generating capacity of 1,060kW, providing a reliable power source to the local community.
Additionally, the newly inaugurated football ground in Maamendhoo boasts state-of-the-art amenities and facilities, including a turf-layered playing surface. Nexta Maldives Private Limited laid the subbase layer of the football ground, while the turf was installed by Amin Construction Private Limited.
Furthermore, the newly developed Fenaka offices in Maamendhoo and Fonadhoo are modern and spacious, providing an improved working environment for employees. These developments represent significant investments in the infrastructure and well-being of the local communities.
