The Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure has given the recipients of the land plots under the Binveriya housing scheme five years to relinquish any other plot registered in their name.
Highlighting the recipients were allowed only three months to begin the process of relinquishing the plots, Minister of State for National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure Akram Kamaluddeen said the government has extended the previous deadline for relinquishing the land plots registered in their name. He said the change requires the recipients to relinquish the plots within five years from the date of signing the land ownership agreement.
The ministry has begun handing over land plots in the Greater Male' Region under the Binveriya housing scheme. The government is providing over 9,000 land plots to residents of Male' under the Binveriya scheme.
