President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has inaugurated several newly completed infrastructure projects on Vaadhoo, Raa Atoll. These projects include a new powerhouse, the Fenaka office, and an extension of the healthcare centre. The inauguration of these projects marks a significant step forward in developing the island and its infrastructure.
The newly inaugurated powerhouse and Fenaka office represent a significant upgrade to the existing infrastructure on Vaadhoo. Strategically located away from the residential area, the state-of-the-art facility minimises disruption to the island's inhabitants while providing reliable and efficient energy to the local community. With a power generation capacity of 800 kilowatts, the powerhouse is valuable to the island's infrastructure and will significantly benefit its residents.
The healthcare centre extension on Vaadhoo, constructed by KLAY LLP, includes a conference hall, administrative office, and general and medical stores. These new facilities will significantly enhance the healthcare services available to the local community, providing them with improved access to medical care and support.
Under President Solih's leadership, the administration has achieved significant strides towards equitable development across all inhabited islands in the Maldives. This includes enhancing the quality of life for citizens and empowering them to lead dignified lives. During his visits to various islands, President Solih is officially inaugurating the completion of numerous projects and services.
