President inaugurates newly developed harbour in Hulhudhoo

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has unveiled the newly developed harbour on Hulhudhoo in Addu City. The event was part of his ongoing tour of the islands in the city. The new harbour will enhance accessibility and safety for residents and visitors, facilitating transportation and trade.

The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) completed the harbour development project in Hulhudhoo. The project encompassed a range of significant enhancements, including dredging the harbour basin and channel, construction of the breakwater and quay wall, and installing a ramp for landing crafts. Additionally, harbour lights were installed, the pavement was constructed, and a dedicated beach area outside the harbour was established.

The administration said it has made significant strides towards equitable development across all inhabited islands in the Maldives. During his visits to various islands, President Solih is officially inaugurating the completion of numerous projects and services.
