Gov't contracts companies to build two mosques in Thaa Atoll

Ministry of Islamic Affairs has contracted two companies for the development of mosques in Kandoodhoo and Vandhoo, Thaa Atoll.

The agreement for the development of the mosques in both islands was signed by Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr. Ahmed Zahir Ali during a special ceremony. Officials from the Islamic ministry, Mims Construction, LF Construction and Parliamentarian Mohamed Nashiz attended the signing ceremony.

As part of the project in both islands, Mims Construction Private Limited has been awarded the construction of the mosque in Kandoodhoo to be completed within a year at a cost of more than USD713,000. LF Construction Private Limited has been awarded the contract for the construction of the mosque in Vandhoo to be completed within a year at a cost of more than USD584,000. Both mosques will have a capacity of 300 worshippers and will be built to accommodate both men and women.
