MNU achieves global quality accreditation from QAA

The Maldives National University (MNU) has achieved global quality accreditation from the renowned Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA), a leading authority in higher education quality assurance.

The QAA awards global quality accreditation following a comprehensive review based on the quality assurance standards prevalent in the European higher education sector. As such, MNU has earned international recognition, securing full membership in the QAA upon the successful conclusion of the review process.

Speaking to PSM News, Vice Chancellor Mohamed Shareef shared that MNU underwent a rigorous two-year review process leading to the acquisition of global quality accreditation. He said that the thorough evaluation included an examination of operational policies, teaching and learning methodologies, curriculum design and review procedures, as well as internal quality assurance arrangements, all of which were found to be at a commendable level.

Additionally, Shareef further mentioned that the QAA conducted on-site visits to MNU campuses, engaging with faculty, students, and stakeholders while seeking additional clarification based on the university's evaluation document. He also said that he QAA review report attested that the university fully adhered to all the quality assurance standards considered during the evaluation. He expressed that the positive outcome was not unexpected, citing the longstanding commitment of MNU since its establishment to upholding service quality and adhering to the highest international standards.

MNU said it aims to remain at the forefront of academic excellence in the Maldives and globally by securing the prestigious accreditation, affirming its dedication to delivering outstanding education. In addition, the accreditation allows MNU to become a full international member of the QAA community.
