President-elect Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has committed to appointing women to crucial leadership roles in his administration, focusing on appointing women to the position of managing director in eight state-owned companies (SOEs), including Public Service Media (PSM).

Speaking at a meeting with media outlets, President-elect Muizzu highlighted his commitment to fostering greater gender inclusion in his administration. He underlined the importance of providing opportunities for women, adding that women would occupy top positions in three ministries and eight SOEs. He also highlighted the appointment of a woman to the position of managing director at PSM and the vice chancellor of the Maldives National University (MNU).
