The Maldives and Türkiye have explored collaborative opportunities and investments in trade, construction, and tourism industries. The discussions were held during a meeting between President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu and Vice President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye Faik Yavuz.
At the meeting, the Vice President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges congratulated President Muizzu on his assumption of office and briefed the President on the role of the Chambers of Commerce in Türkiye. The primary focus of the meeting was to explore collaborative opportunities and investments in the trade, construction, and tourism industries. In addition, they discussed ways to expand trade between the two countries, emphasising their commitment to enhancing bilateral ties and cooperating in areas of mutual interest.
Diplomatic relations between the Maldives and Türkiye were established on May 28, 1979. President Muizzu is currently on an official visit to Türkiye at the invitation of the Turkish President. First Lady Sajidha Mohamed and a high-level Maldivian delegation comprising senior government officials are accompanying the President on the visit.
