Fulhadhoo Island Council opens 26 land plots for commercial use

Fulhadhoo Island Council has opened 26 land plots designated for commercial and economic purposes in Fulhadhoo, Baa Atoll.

Fulhadhoo Island Council has taken steps to address the concerns regarding the social issues stemming from the existing businesses and economic activities operating in limited spaces in the island. As such, the council has opened land plots from the newly reclaimed land situated east of the island's harbor for a variety of commercial uses to tackle the social issues.

The decision to allocate the land was made during a general meeting held on September 6 of this year. The designated purposes for the allocated land include fibre work, woodworking, carpentry, warehousing, and fish cooking.

The size of the allocated land plots range from 1400-1500sqft, with smaller plots measuring 450sqft. Interested parties are invited to submit bids for leasing the plots, with the minimum rent set at USD4 per square foot every month. The plots will be leased to the highest bidder after a thorough evaluation of the submitted bids. The prospective bidders are encouraged to make inquiries and then submit their bids as per the council's invitation.
