Minister of Housing, Land and Urban Development Dr. Ali Haidar Ahmed has stated that the government aims to create a waiting list for citizens who are most in need of housing.
During a meeting with the Parliamentary Committee on Petitions, Minister Haidar highlighted the advantage of creating a waiting list instead of announcing housing projects and creating online portals to award points to applicants to formulate separate lists for each project. As such, he said that the housing laws should be amended to identify those who are most in need of housing.
Additionally, Minister Haidar said that the waiting list would be considered when choosing the recipients of housing and that the list will be changed according to the changing living conditions of the individuals. He also said that such important issues related to the public should be closely overseen by the government and dealt with fairly.
