Ameenee Magu to be completed in 45 days depending on weather

The Road Development Corporation (RDC) has revealed that the final two segments of Ameenee Magu will be completed within 45 days, depending on favorable weather conditions.

RDC aims to finish the last two segments of Ameenee Magu within 45-50 days. The company recently stated that the project would be completed within 45 days depending on weather conditions.

RDC temporarily suspended the project in September, as instructed by the Elections Commission of the Maldives (ECM), to avoid congestion during the presidential election, as Ameenee Magu is one of the busiest roads in Male' City. The project resumed later than the initially scheduled date despite the temporary halt.

The redevelopment of the remaining segments, 12 and 13, of Ameenee Magu resumed on December 9. Asphalt has been laid from the Henveiru end of the road to Izzudheen Magu and the area is currently accessible to the public. RDC is preparing to continue construction activities, including the installation of storm water main and outfall pipes on Ameenee Magu, sewer overflow work, pressure testing of water pipes connecting to households, and the laying of curb stones. The scope of the final two segments of Ameenee Magu has also been changed, incorporating four lanes for improved public convenience upon completion.

The redevelopment of Ameenee Magu is a key priority in President Dr. Muizzu's Week-14 Roadmap. The administration is allocating USD5.5 million to the project, which aims to pave the whole 1.7km length of Ameenee Magu with asphalt.
