Jumhooree Party (JP) has opened the opportunity for the submission of candidacy forms to seek the party's ticket for the 2024 parliamentary election.
In a press release, JP stated that the opportunity is open to those who are interested and eligible to contest the parliamentary election as stipulated in article 51 of the JP regulations. Individuals interested in running for the parliamentary election on the party ticket can submit their candidacy by December 26, 1400hrs. The candidature of the applicants will be evaluated by the JP council or a committee appointed by the council for the purpose.
Currently, only two members represent JP in the 19th Parliament. They are JP leader Qasim Ibrahim and Parliamentarian Ali Hussain. JP has held discussions with other political parties regarding the parliamentary election. The meetings were held with the ruling PPM/PNC coalition and the opposition MDP.
