Gov't offices to be closed for last 10 days of Ramadan

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has decided to close government offices for the last 10 days of Ramadan. This decision followed discussions on a paper submitted by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs during a Cabinet meeting.

This measure intends to foster Islamic values, encourage engagement in religious practices, and allow citizens to prioritise religious observances during this significant period. The closing of government offices for the concluding ten days of Ramadan is among the presidential pledges of President Muizzu.

The President's Office stated that the last 10 days of Ramadan will be closed like other holidays. As such, offices will be closed for civil service employees but not for employees on shift duty.
