Registrations open for 36th National Quran Competition

The National Centre for the Holy Quran has opened the opportunity to register for the 36th National Quran Competition.

Interested individuals are required to register by January 18 via a dedicated online portal. The Holy Quran centre has provided the link to the portal through various social media platforms.

The competition is scheduled to take place on February 23. The competition is open to students in schools, universities, colleges, institutes or education centres, Quran classes. Hafizes as well as clubs and associations working to raise religious awareness are also allowed to participate in the competition.

In the school students' category, students in the cities can participate in the competition under the school's name. The students from atoll schools will be eligible to participate in the competition after they win local competitions in the atolls. The atoll council will select the participants for the National Competition.

The National Quran Recitation Competition has been held by the government since 1981 and it is organised to encourage the love of reciting the Holy Quran in the hearts of individuals. The competition is split into the category of recitation, the category of recitation by heart, and the hafiz category. The Holy Quran centre will choose the first, second, and third place winners of each category and will also choose the overall winners of the competition.
