Applications re-open for Hajj quota reserved for ill individuals

The Maldives Hajj Corporation Limited (MHCL) has opened the opportunity for individuals undergoing treatment for severe illnesses to apply for the reserve Hajj quota.

Hajj Corporation reserves 5% of its quota for those who have paid for the pilgrimage through the company and are suffering from serious illnesses. Since the government has decided to allocate the entire Hajj quote to Hajj Corporation, the company has decided to facilitate the Hajj pilgrimage for 50 individuals with serious illnesses.

Hajj Corporation urged individuals to complete the application form on its website and attach a clear copy of the applicant's identity (ID) card, along with the Health Certification Form. The deadline for submission of applications is on December 31.

Presently, 6,000 pilgrims are registered in the Hajj Corporation queue to perform the pilgrimage, of which 4,706 have made their payments. The administration made the decision to allocate the entire official Hajj quotas administered to the Maldives annually to Hajj Corporation to avoid prolonging their wait, improve the quality of service, and increase the general public's confidence in the quality of service provided by the company.
