Gov't to introduce portal for direct citizen-government communication

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has announced the establishment of a dedicated portal on the official website of the President's Office, designed to facilitate direct communication between citizens and the government. In his address at the "Kangathi Awards 2023" ceremony, the President expressed unwavering support for the decentralisation system, reiterating his commitment to working closely with the people.

Acknowledging the significance of direct engagement, President Muizzu pledged to traverse all the islands of the Maldives regularly, providing citizens with the opportunity to share their thoughts, ideas, and concerns directly with him. He underscored the importance of fostering a transparent and accessible channel for communication.

In addition to personal visits, the President highlighted the forthcoming establishment of an online portal within the President's Office. This platform aims to empower citizens to submit requests, voice concerns, and seek clarifications directly from the President, streamlining the communication process.

President Dr. Mohammed Muizzu further outlined the government's decision to conduct a series of public forums over the next 14 weeks, dedicated to addressing the questions and concerns of the people. The inaugural forum is scheduled to take place in February.

Reflecting on his commitment to the citizens, President Dr. Muizzu emphasised that the progress, housing, and dignity of the people are paramount. He recalled the promises made during the previous presidential campaign, asserting that these commitments were not mere dreams but tangible efforts towards truth and positive change. Moving forward, he assured the public that their welfare remains a top priority for his administration.
