Studying law broadens perspectives: Chief Justice

Chief Justice Ahmed Muthasim Adnan has stated that studying law broadens one's perspective. He made the remark at the closing ceremony of the Judiciary for Juniors 2023 programme.

At the closing ceremony, Chief Justice Adnan said that studying law broadens perspectives and allow people to be inquisitive and find the answers to their own questions. He also said that being a judge is only for the bravehearted, as it is not easy to pass a judgement, especially for serious criminal offences. He detailed that judges will be required to debate each side and consult other judges before passing their own judgement in accordance with the law.

Chief Justice Adnan presented the certificates to the participants of the Judiciary for Juniors programme at the closing ceremony held at the Supreme Court. The programme was held for young people between the ages of 15 to 20.

A total of 50 individuals participated in this year's programme, which was conducted by the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) in collaboration with UNDP, the judiciary, the Attorney General's Office, and the Prosecutor General's Office.
