RDC resumes road construction in 17 islands

The Road Development Corporation (RDC) has announced that the road construction projects in 17 islands have resumed and are slated for completion soon.

The RDC originally initiated the projects for the islands under previous government but they were halted for various reasons. The projects have now resumed, with construction underway in various parts of the country.

Managing Director of RDC Ali Zuhair said the company's commitment to complete the projects promptly. He said that approximately 80% of the projects in the islands are currently undergoing construction and efforts are being made to ensure their timely completion. He also noted that some islands faced project delays even before the transition of government.

Additionally, Zuhair revealed that the RDC has secured contracts for an additional 15 islands, beyond the initial 17. He also said that survey work has commenced for islands where construction has not yet begun.

Furthermore Zuhair mentioned that RDC is currently addressing the recruitment issues hindering progress in islands where projects have yet to commence. He said that the corporation is making efforts to overcome such obstacles and advance the road construction projects.
