Maldivian, the national airline, has inaugurated its seaplane service to Fulhadhoo in Baa Atoll. The airline is set to operate scheduled seaplane flights to the island every Tuesday and Thursday.
Ibrahim Ilyas, the Managing Director of Island Aviation Services Limited (IASL), expressed enthusiasm about this new operation. He noted that these seaplane flights are a testament to Maldivian's commitment to bolstering tourism in the Maldives. Ilyas highlighted that seaplane travel would offer a unique and memorable experience for tourists.
He noted the move is aligned with the growing tourism sector in Baa Atoll adding Maldivian is actively considering an expansion of flight frequencies to meet the escalating demand.
IASL anticipates that these flights will not only enhance accessibility to Fulhadhoo but also provide added convenience for passengers traveling to Fehendhoo and Goidhoo.
