Parliamentarian Ibrahim Shareef has resigned from Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP).
In his letter to the MDP chairperson, Shareef said he wishes to step away from politics at this current time. He also said that he wants to respect the wishes of his supporters and allow the government projects in his constituency to progress without hindrance.
Ibrahim Shareef is one of the longest serving members in Parliament. He is also a longstanding representative for the Addu Maradhoo constituency.
