President assures unchanged salaries after HDC services transfer

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has reassured that salaries and allowances would remain unchanged, following the transfer of Hulhumale' municipal services from the Housing Development Corporation (HDC) to the Male' City Council.

In a post on X, President Dr. Muizzu addressed concerns expressed by HDC employees over the transference of services. He emphasised that a mechanism would be established by the government to ensure that employees continue to receive their current salaries, insurance, and other benefits without any shortfall.

The agreement for the transfer of services has been signed by representatives of the Ministry of Finance, HDC, and the Male' City Council. The transfer aligns with President Dr. Muizzu's presidential pledge and is a part of the goals outlined in the Week 14 roadmap. The government will complete the transfer of the municipal service office, machinery, land, employees, and other assets to the city council within a month, under the agreement.
