The Road Development Corporation (RDC) has finished laying asphalt on the last segments of Ameenee Magu.
RDC stated that asphalt was laid in the last two segments within a span of 28 days. The company stated that while the final segments have been paved, the road itself will be officially opened either later this week or early next week. President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has personally inspected the progress of the Ameenee Magu project. The scope of the final two segments of Ameenee Magu has also been changed, incorporating four lanes for improved public convenience upon completion.
The redevelopment of Ameenee Magu is a key priority in President Dr. Muizzu's 14-week roadmap. The administration has allocated USD5.5 million to the project, which aims to redevelop and modernise the whole 1.7km length of Ameenee Magu.
Ameenee Magu is one of the busiest roads in Male’ due to the large number of office buildings and schools in the area. It is also one of the few roads that run across the length of the capital city and is the main network for utility services. The road also connects the traffic to all areas of the city but has been in poor condition for years.
