Parliamentarian Hassan Ahmed joins Congress Party

Parliamentarian Hassan Ahmed has joined the ruling party, People's National Congress.

Parliamentarian Hassan handed over his membership form to President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu at a special ceremony.

In a post on X, Parliamentarian Hassan said he will serve the Congress Party with honesty and sincerity.

Parliamentarian Hassan was formerly a member of opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP). He joined the Congress Party at a time when 13 other MDP members have also joined the ruling party.

Currently, the Parliament comprises 16 Congress Party members and 41 MDP members.
