State Electric Company Limited (STELCO) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to build a park in Villimale'.
STELCO is required to renovate the existing park on plot number 38 and further develop the area. The agreement was signed by Managing Director of STELCO Hussain Fahmy and Minister of Cities, Local Government and Public Works Adam Shareef Umar.
At the signing ceremony, Managing Director Fahmy said the project is part of STELCO's corporate social responsibility and that the company plans to re-open the park as soon as possible. In addition, Minister Shareef said the project to build the park in Villimale' is an important step in line with the government's efforts to renovate and develop neglected parks and squares.
The park is expected to be re-opened before the start of the month of Ramadan.
