Hunan Construction Investment Group (HCIG) has expressed its interest in strengthening ties with the Maldives.
In a recent meeting, the Managing Director of HCIG, Cai Dianwei, outlined the company's eagerness to enhance cooperation with the Maldives, highlighting the keenness to foster stronger connections between the two nations.
During the meeting with President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, Cai Dianwei provided an overview of HCIG and briefed the president on ongoing projects. He specifically highlighted the importance of increasing people-to-people interaction as part of the collaboration.
In response, President Dr. Muizzu conveyed his optimism about the potential for deeper cooperation between the Maldives and China. He assured HCIG of the administration's full support in advancing and strengthening the bilateral relationship.
The President and the First Lady Sajidha Mohamed are currently undertaking a state visit to China. A high-level delegation is accompanying the President and the First Lady on this visit.
