Daily vehicle registrations drop from 200 to 25

Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation Mohamed Ameen has revealed a significant decrease in the daily registration of vehicles, dropping from 200 to 25. He made the announcement during the launch ceremony of the Integrated Transport Master Plan for the Greater Male' Region.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Ameen highlighted that statistics from the previous administration indicated a daily registration of over 200 vehicles, sometimes reaching up to 300. He, however, noted that the measures taken by the current administration have successfully reduced the number to 25.

Additionally, Minister Ameen highlighted the importance of the reduction, underscoring it as a pivotal achievement in the ministry's initiative. He expressed concern that uncontrolled vehicle import and registration could pose increased risks in the Greater Male' Region.

Furthermore, Minister Ameen highlighted plans to initiate the regulation of the importation of vehicles in the Greater Male' Region in the coming weeks. He emphasised that the Integrated Transport Master Plan aims to establish a high-quality transportation system across the country.
