Minister of Construction and Infrastructure Dr. Abdulla Muththalib has stated that 32 stalled projects have been resumed. He made the statement in a post on X in response to former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih's recent claim that the government is halting some projects.
In his post, Minister Muththalib said that many of the projects commenced during the previous administration of President Solih were stalled when the new government took office. They include 64 projects contracted to Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) and Road Development Corporation (RDC).
Additionally, Minister Muththalib said that 32 of the projects have been resumed and that there were 83 more projects that the two state-owned companies have yet to begin after signing the contracts. He also said that Fenaka Corporation limited, the Male' Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) and some private companies have also neglected to commence projects. He added that the new administration aims to resume all stalled projects as soon as possible.
