Presidential Address to be delivered on February 5

The Parliament of the Maldives has revealed that the Presidential Address will be delivered on February 5.

The first session of the Parliament in 2024 will begin with the annual Presidential Address delivered by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu. It will be followed by the formal proceedings of the Parliament in the subsequent sittings. The most important work in the first session of this year will be approving the Cabinet ministers.

The Presidential Address is mandated to be delivered by the president in accordance with Article 84 of the Constitution of the Maldives. The purpose of the Presidential Address is to state the current situation of the nation and areas which need to be addressed to resolve the issues faced by the country.
