Visa exemption agreement with Mongolia comes into effect

Ministry of Foreign Affairs has revealed Maldivian nationals travelling to Mongolia will be exempted from visa effective from January 12, 2024.

Maldivians holding valid Diplomatic, Official, and Ordinary passports will be allowed to enter and stay in Mongolia for a maximum period of thirty days from the day of their entry without the need for a visa, according to the agreement.

However, in accordance with the visa exemption agreement signed between the two countries on 17 August 2023, Maldivians intending to stay for a longer period or to work or to attend an educational institution or conduct business in Mongolia, will need to obtain an appropriate visa prior to travel.
