The Mayor of Male' City Adam Azim has expressed his commitment to fostering collaborative governance within the confines of the legal framework.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mayor Azim acknowledged President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's contributions to decentralization in the Maldives. He also thanked the President for his service during his tenure as Male' mayor.
Additionally, Mayor Azim highlighted the importance of working with the government and the people in ensuring the success of the decentralisation system. He emphasised his dedication to serving the public and underscored that he sees himself as the mayor who serves every resident of the city.
Furthermore, Mayor Azim affirmed that he intends to operate within the legal framework, pledging full cooperation with the government and institutions. He expressed his commitment to being a facilitator rather than an obstacle to initiatives that benefit the public. In addition, he outlined his vision for Male', aiming to enhance accessibility to services without unnecessary hurdles. He also pledged to transform Male' into an environmentally friendly and pristine city during his tenure.
