RDC lays asphalt on more roads in Kulhudhuffushi

The Road Development Corporation (RDC) has begun laying asphalt on additional roads in Kulhudhufffushi City.

The development of the roads in Kulhudhuffushi started in March 2022. Some roads were excavated but the project came to a halt to take into account additional design changes submitted by the Kulhudhuffushi City Council for the scope of the project.

RDC stated the road development project is proceeding according to the scheduled timeline and the work of laying asphalt on 10 more roads with ABC layer has begun. The company added that changes have been made to the project's scope in accordance with the proposals submitted by the council.

Kulhudhuffushi is one of the most populous islands in the north. A large number of people travel to the regional hospital, airport, and government offices on the island. However, residents complain of the inconvenience caused due to flooding on the island.

RDC is contracted to develop 7.12m of road in Kulhudhuffushi for USD6.5 million. The company has so far completed 46% of the project.
