National College to operate in former CHSC building

Minister of Dhivehi Language, Culture, and Heritage Adam Naseer Ibrahim has announced that the National College for Nationalism and the National Centre for Heritage Research will be located in the building that previously housed the Centre for Higher Secondary Education (CHSE).

Speaking to PSM News, Minister Naseer revealed that renovations are underway at the former CHSC building, with the Sifainge Welfare Company (SIWEC) team of the Maldives National Defence Force overseeing the project. He said that the aim is to open the college during the first 14 weeks of the administration, as outlined in President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's Week-14 Roadmap.

Additionally, Minister Naseer emphasised that the teaching approach at the National College will diverge from traditional methods employed in other institutions. He said that initial focus will be on Maldivian history, specifically addressing topics related to the origins of the Maldivian people.

Furthermore, Minister Naseer outlined the initial focus of the research centre, which will also concentrate on Maldivian history. He said that the research centre aims to enlist 50 researchers under the age of 35 for a comprehensive five-year research initiative. He also said that the centre will also conduct research that extends into various fields beyond historical studies.
