PNC secures seat in Rakeedhoo Council

The ruling People's National Congress (PNC) has secured a seat in the Rakeedhoo Island Council in the by-election.

PNC candidate Abdul Razzaq Adam emerged victorious in the by-election for the council's vacant seat, garnering 99 votes. His opposing candidate from MDP, Adam Saamy, received 81 votes. Notably, 184 individuals voted in the by-election, accounting for 65.4% of eligible voters.

Candidates from the ruling coalition of the Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) and PNC have won in recent by-elections.
