Thalassemia screening programme for school children has commenced as part of a national awareness campaign.
The programme was launched on February 1 and aims to reduce the birth rate of children with thalassemia, starting with the grade 10 students from Arabiyya School. Parents will also be informed about thalassemia through the initiative.
As part of the Thalassemia Awareness Programme, information sessions will be conducted in government ministries and offices as part of the broader national campaign to raise awareness about thalassemia.
