The Business Centre Corporation (BCC) has announced a change in the schedule for the Hiyala Weekend Market, now taking place on Thursdays.
As a key element of the government's Week 14 Roadmap, the Hiyala Weekend Market was launched on January 19. It is coordinated by the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade along with BCC and aims to create a dedicated marketplace in Hulhumale' for promoting and selling women's products.
The BCC has decided to hold the market three days a week due to its overwhelming popularity. The decision aims to enhance business opportunities and provide a platform for women entrepreneurs to showcase and sell their products. As such, the market will now be held on Fridays, Saturdays, and Thursdays, operating from 1600hrs to 1100hrs on those days.
The market is being held at the Container Park in Hulhumale' Phase I. The BCC has initiated a waitlist for individuals interested in participating, specifically encouraging women entrepreneurs. Individuals wishing to join can sign up through a notice published in the Government Gazette.
BCC emphasises that participation opportunities will be allocated weekly based on the waitlist order, granting over 18 women entrepreneurs the chance to showcase and sell their products at the market each week.
