Maldives flag flown half mast following the passing of Namibia's President

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has sent a message of condolences to Nangolo Mbumba, Acting President of the Republic of Namibia, following the passing of Namibia's distinguished President, Hage G. Geingob.

In his message, the President stated that he was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Namibia's President. The President then extended his sincere condolences to the people, the Government of Namibia, and the bereaved family of Hage G. Geingob on behalf of himself, the Government, and the people of the Maldives.

President Dr. Muizzu additionally noted the late President Hage G. Geingob's commitment to advancing democratic principles, governance, and economic development in Namibia. He further asserted that future generations will undoubtedly remember his legacy.

Meanwhile, President Dr. Muizzu issued a directive declaring that the national flag would be flown at half-mast for two days, from February 6-7 in mourning for Namibia's late President Geingob.

The Republic of Maldives and the Republic of Namibia established diplomatic relations on July 26, 1990.
